FAQs
Who can enrol?
We do not have a restrictive catchment area and have previously had children enrolled from far and wide who didn’t want to miss out on the McDougall Park experience. Preference is, however, given to those living in our local community. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept the 500 Visa.
We are accepting applications for 2027 kindy kids. Please submit the application form with the required documents to kindy@mcdougall-kindy.com.au . Please note that all applications received will be considered; acceptance is not on a first come, first served basis.
2026 Kindy Kids: We accept mid-year enrolments and have a few remaining places for this year (2026). Please contact us if you would like to join our kindy community.
What are the financial contributions?
The financial contribution is inclusive of an amount to cover incursions and all other supplies throughout the year. There is no list of stationery items required to be purchased by families. We do not have a mandatory uniform, which means there are no compulsory additional costs associated with uniform purchase.
For those who wish, we have kindy t-shirts (new and second-hand) available for purchase.
What are the days and times?
Standard class times are 9am to 3pm. Students attend five (5) full days per fortnight. In 2026 classes are running daily with children attending Mondays, Thursdays and alternate Wednesdays or Tuesdays, Fridays and alternate Wednesdays. Many of our families have older children attending school at a different physical location. We understand that you can’t be in two places at once and are flexible with drop off and pick up times to ensure younger siblings don’t miss out on the McDougall Park experience.
How many children are in each class?
Each class has a maximum of 20 children. During any given school year, we will welcome up to 40 children.
Where to after McDougall Park?
McDougall Park is the perfect environment to enjoy kindy prior to entering the more formal schooling environment.
The choice of school after kindy is entirely up to you. Our link school is Curtin Primary School, however you are not locked into a specific school by attending McDougall Park Community Kindy. Some parents are apprehensive about the fact the entire group does not move to pre-primary together. It is our experience that this rarely creates problems for our children and that our children typically move to pre-primary with at least one other kindy classmate.
If this is a concern for you, feel free to contact us and we can put you in touch with someone who has personally been through this experience.
